IMPLIMENTATION OF TEAHER TRANING POLICY

 A new faculty member who completes his/her studies in a timely manner from a premier technical institution and joins in Nilasaila Institute of Science & Technology needs basic teaching training, he / she is required to provide quality outputs in the short run so that they lead to meaningful outcomes for the discipline in the medium duration which in turn a valuable impact for the institutions in the long duration. Therefore, the faculty member is required to plan the efforts and their directions to make the academic carrier meaningful.

 Faculty induction programme (FIP) has to be implemented just after recruitment of fresh teachers.

  • He/she has to keep abreast with the latest syllabus in his subject.
  • New faculty members are trained to develop the art of preparing a systematic lesson plan and effective classroom interaction developing competence in communication skill in various models relevant to technical problems.
  • Training in human values through an appropriate process of self-exploration happened to be, by for the most important component of the training of fresh teachers.
  • A teacher also has to learn the knack of continuous knowledge up dating and lifelong learning.
  • Apply the concepts, principles, and process of instructions and learning to ensure effective implementation of the curriculum.
  • Demonstrate ethical and responsible, professional behavior in the performance of his duties and rules.
  • Also at successive stages of teaching career, training inputs about curricular development, infrastructure development, Institutional development, disciplinary and other important aspects of educational administration and policy formulation etc., will also be needed.

  • Continuous updating of technical subject expertise by making mandatory, the successful completion of at least one subject course offer through technology based means every year from anywhere in the world.

  • Teaching in miscellaneous expects other than teaching such as administrative procedure, financial procedure and legal implication etc.,
  • A fresher is required to attend two seminar/workshop/ conferences in an academic year.

  • Refresher modules, for knowledge updating newer developments and thrust are as in concerned field.
  • Training on curricular development, research material development and good practices-in teaching and research.
  • Planning for departmental growth, motivation and efficiency.
  • Inviting eminent personalities who have achieved some feat in science and technology to take some seminar for our students.
  • Participation in the seminar will help them to interact with present and ongoing advancements in the technical field.
  • They should attend 4 seminar/workshop/conferences in an academic year.

 (FDP PROGRAME FOR ABOVE 10 YEARS OF SERVICE)

  • Refresher modules, for knowledge updating newer developments and thrust areas in concerned field.
  • Training on curricular development, research material development and good practices in teaching and research.
  • Planning for departmental growth, motivation and efficiency.
  • Inviting eminent personalities who have achieved some feat in science and technology to take some seminar for our students.
  • Participation in the seminar will help them to interact with present and ongoing advancements in the technical field.
  • They should attend 5 seminar/workshop/conferences in an academic year.

 The institution is adopting an effective teaching learning method with a blend of traditional and updated tools. Most of the teachers are using ICT tools while delivering the content in the classroom. The institution has tutorial and remedial classes to improve the standard of the slow learners. The institution has subscribed to MOOCs-NPTEL for online resources. There is also the provision of Pre-Placement training activities and Coaching facilities to qualify for national level entrance examinations.  INTERACTIVE CLASSROOM TEACHING:

The institution has adopted an interactive classroom teaching method with a simple principle that without practical application, students often fail to comprehend the depths of the study material. The teachers of the institution implement this method highlighting on measurable students accomplishments, flexibility in teaching, practice and student motivation. The faculty members encourage student participation, use questions that stimulate the response, use teaching aids for capturing the attention of the students and involve themselves in the classrooms.

 ICT ENABLED CONTENT DELIVERY:

Most of the classrooms of the institution are ICT enabled comprising of overhead projectors, updated computer systems, audio units, white boards and wifi connectivity. The faculty members use Power Point Presentation and graphic representation for their content delivery. The JCT tools are used by the teachers of the institution to communicate, create, disseminate, store and manage information that are required for the students in shaping their career.

COOPERATIVE LEARNING THROUGH TUTORIAL CLASSES:

The institution has implemented tutorial classes for the students to make each student of the institution stronger in academics. Students are encouraged to learn together and grow together. The tutorial classes are allotted in the time table of the institution. The faculty members focus on the positive interdependence, group skills and group accountability among the students.

 REMEDIALANDDOUBTCLEARINGCLASSES:

The institution conducts remedial and doubt clearing classes for clearing the doubts of the students and for the development of slow learners. There is the provision of one to one doubt

Clearing system in the institution and the students are permitted to enter into the rooms the faculty members to clear their doubts as and when required. The teachers are found to be very much cooperative in this regard.

 LEARNING THROUGH INTERNSHIP, GUIDED PROJECTS AND CASE STUDIES

The students of the institution undergo internship during their study. The Training and Placement department of the institution arranges internship for the students in various reputed companies so that the students will get a firsthand knowledge about the functioning of the machineries. The students are also motivated to participate in guided project as per the curriculum of the affiliating university. All the students have to undertake one minor project and one major project during their study of three years.

 SELF-LEARNING THROUGH MOOCS:

The institution is an active chapter of NPTEL. Maximum students get enrolled in the portal every year and all the faculty members have registered themselves in the portal. The faculty members undergo faculty development programmes from time to time. They have gone through the courses and achieved course completion certificate from these online resources.

 PRE PLACEMENT TRAINING AND GUIDED COACHING:

The institution has an active training and placement cell which provides training to the students all over the year keeping an eye on the placement of the students during the three years of study. There is the provision of training the students on English and Communication, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning, Programming Languages and technical subjects as required for the placement. Besides training for placement, the institution also provides guided coaching to the students to enable them to crack in competitive examinations.
