Civil-engineering,being the oldest branch occupies a dominant place. Every bridge, dam, oilring, pipeline, reservoir, tunnel, waterway sewers, power plants, Transmission, Tower/Lines, railroads, Highways, Irrigation canels, River Navigation, Shipping canals, Traffic control, Mass transit, Airport Runways, Terminals, Industrial plant Buildings, Skyscrappers etc is a civil engineering projects within civil engineering there are several main fields. These are structures and foundation, transportation, environmental and water resources engineering. Today's civil engineers are in the forefront of technology. They are the leading users of sophisticated high-tech products-applying the very latest concepts in computer-aided design(CAD) to support design,construction, project scheduling and cost control, civil engineering encompasses the planning,design,construction and operation of facilities essential to modern life, ranging from transit systems to offshore structures to space satellites.
Civil engineers are problem solvers,meeting the challenges of pollution, drinking water and energy needs,urban redevelopment, and community planning. As the technological revolution expands, as the world's population increases and as environmental concerns mount, the civil engineer has a vital role to play in improving the quality of life for the 21st century, focuses on the infrastructure of the world which include water works, subdivisions of the field are engineering, irrigation engineering, transportation engineering, soils and foundation engineering, hydraulic enginering and coastal and ocean engineering.
The civil engineering branch in NIST Polytechnic is detremined to nature some skilled,highly talented civil Engineers with competancy innovative ideas & modern conception. We have set up all the required laboratories & separate class rooms. The Institution is proud to have some dynamic professionals who train the students and help them to go ahead with their theory and practical classes. This is in addition to the existing teaching staff.
